Thanks to Paul for reminding me again of M E J Newman’s site, which I visited back in 2004<\/a>, where he makes some lovely maps and cartograms of the election results<\/a>. In the case shown here, it’s based on county voting counts, blending blue vs red, and size adjusted for population.<\/p>\n

The result shows … a lot of mixed areas, and another argument against the “GOP as a Regional Party” meme.<\/p>\n
