In the case shown here, it&#8217;s based on county voting counts, blending blue vs red, and size adjusted for population.<\/p>\n<p>The result shows &#8230; a lot of mixed areas, and another argument against the &#8220;GOP as a Regional Party&#8221; meme.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re all in this (and mixed up) together.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thanks to Paul for reminding me again of&nbsp;M E J Newman&#8217;s&nbsp;site, which&nbsp;I visited back in 2004, where he makes some lovely maps and cartograms of the election results.
