This week, Donald Trump tried to portray himself as the Hero of Puerto Rico, lauding FEMA and the federal governments response to Hurricane Maria as the "best ever," maybe even better than the "A+" grades he got for the hurricanes that hit Texas and Florida.<\/p>\n

His style got crimped a bit when people pointed out that the official death toll now being attributed to Maria was nearly 3000, most of them killed in the aftermath of the event due to disease and lack of power and water, all matters handled in a bumbling manner by the Federal Government's relief efforts. <\/p>\n

Its taken a couple of days (!), but Trump finally as an answer for his critics: they're lying,<\/i> part of a plot<\/i> specifically to make him,<\/i> Donald Trump, look bad.<\/p>\n

❝ 3000 people did not die in the two hurricanes that hit Puerto Rico. When I left the Island, AFTER the storm had hit, they had anywhere from 6 to 18 deaths. As time went by it did not go up by much. Then, a long time later, they started to report really large numbers, like 3000…<\/i> ❞ [1]<\/p>\n
