I was actually introduced to the books by the TV series, and was bitterly disappointing when the show didn't succeed (I still pull out that season disc and rewatch it now and again). In retrospect, I think it was constrained by budget and state-of-the-FX in (was it only) 2007. There were also complaints by fans that the series made the book material more generic, and worked too hard to fit entire volumes into individual episodes.<\/p>\n

The new series looks like it will be rebooting from scratch. <\/p>\n

Good Lord, Paul Blackthorne looks so young … but he's still my mental image for the character.<\/p>\n

In one of those weird coincidences, I'm in the middle of a book series re-read (hoping the latest volume will drop in priced before I get it), and was just wondering if\/when they'd ever circle back to this property for TV. It feels like it should be a natural in the current market.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
