Janice Jackson was subject to ridicule and blackballing for her "costume failure" a decade ago. And nobody doubts that a female performer who ripped off her sofa-pattern shirt during the Super Bowl halftime would still face a cut-to-commercial from the network and a national outrage. <\/p>\n

Adam Levine? Let's zoom in on that topless torso, those tat-surrounded nipples.<\/p>\n

Just something to consider.<\/p>\n

And for those who say, "Well, a woman's breasts are clearly for showing off sexy stuff," then I reply (a) no, they are not, (b) what the heck do you think Mr Levine was doing, (c) men were required to wear bathing suits that covered their tops on New Jersey beaches until the 1920s and it was a huge scandal when that taboo was broken, but women still are required to.<\/p>\n

Obligatory Disclosure: I am much more interested, in an aesthetic sense, in women's unclad torsos when men's, with all due apologies to Mr Levine. But that is, I think, beside the point.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
