Some of the business buzzwords from the dot-com boom are seriously falling out of fashion<\/a>. One such word is paradigm<\/i>.<\/p>\n

In an e-mail interview, Bob Palmer, president of Data Guidance Group, echoed that sentiment: “This one caught on in business, as in, ‘The dot-com produced a new paradigm in business . . . a business that can prosper with no hope of ever making a profit.’ . . . BAN IT!” <\/p>\n

Of course, this is not an example of a word that should never have been created in the first place, but one which got appropriated by some folks who now leave a bad taste in the mouth. Sort of like anyone using the term Aryan<\/i> today already has a strike or two against them.<\/p>\n

Pity. Paradigm<\/i> is a useful word. I prefer seeing some of the other examples cited in the article be dropped first.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
