Vaguely Lovecraftean, both in look and in post title.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.massively.com\/2009\/03\/13\/lotro-book-7-leaves-of-lorien-arrives-in-north-america-tuesday\/\">LotRO Book 7: Leaves of Lorien arrives in North America Tuesday March 17<\/a><br \/>Ooooh &#8230; purty &#8230; While I didn&#8217;t find the gameplay &#8220;enough fun,&#8221; the LotRO folks have created a beautiful instantiation of Tolkien&#8217;s Middle Earth, and it keeps getting better.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/ktliterary.com\/2009\/03\/queryfail.html#comments\">Queryfail! &#8211; kt literary<\/a><br \/>The money quote: &#8220;If you are under the impression that once a book is out, all you get is an unceasing volley of praise&#8230; unthink this thought, because it is a wrong thought.&#8221;   Preach it, sister. Amen.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kottke.org\/09\/03\/only-portrait-of-shakespeare-found\">Only portrait of Shakespeare found<\/a><br \/>Cool.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kottke.org\/09\/03\/grownup-calvin-and-hobbes\">Grown-up Calvin and Hobbes<\/a><br \/>Interesting conceptually, though nothing can replace the Real Thing.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kottke.org\/09\/03\/harry-beck-paris-metro-map\">Harry Beck Paris Metro map<\/a><br \/>I love the London Underground maps &#8212; but reading the reasons behind (until recently) failed attempts to implement a similar scheme for Paris is a fascinating dive into user interface issues.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.schneier.com\/blog\/archives\/2009\/03\/the_kindness_of.html\">The Kindness of Strangers<\/a><br \/>Pragmatism, altruism, and security, all wrapped up in one package\/post.
