The unpaid debt will lead to bankruptcy of banks which will have to be nationalized and State will have to take the road which will eventually lead to communism.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Karl Marx (1867)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Apparently this quote is all over the Net, spurring furious commentary from those who either (a) think Marx was correct, and, see, here&#8217;s the proof, or (b) think Obama is leading us to socialism and communism.<\/p>\n<p>Isn&#8217;t that amazing?\u00a0 Isn&#8217;t that just too good to be true?<\/p>\n<p>Um &#8230; well, yes, it is.<\/p>\n<p>Snopes hasn&#8217;t weighed in on it officially (except <a href=\"http:\/\/message.snopes.com\/showthread.php?t=42282\">discussion in forums<\/a>), but plenty of folks have done some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marxists.org\/archive\/marx\/works\/1867-c1\/\">searching of <\/a><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.marxists.org\/archive\/marx\/works\/1867-c1\/\">Das Kapital<\/a> <\/em>(what Marx wrote in that year), and, well, haven&#8217;t found anything.<\/p>\n<p>Whether this <a href=\"http:\/\/latimesblogs.latimes.com\/money_co\/2009\/02\/karl-marx-hoax.html\">is<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/groups.google.com\/group\/alt.war.vietnam\/msg\/29ecd1761efa719c\">a<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/bespokebrands.blogspot.com\/2009\/01\/karl-marx-quote-1867.html\">hoax<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.belgraded.com\/blog\/off-the-record\/the-mysterious-karl-marx-quote\">from<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/meganmcardle.theatlantic.com\/archives\/2009\/01\/faux_marx.php\">the Right<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jbs.org\/index.php\/news-feed-archive\/4580\">or the Left<\/a>, it&#8217;s not a real Marx quote.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>And for his next trick, Marx will predict the Super Lotto Winner for next week!
