It doesn&#8217;t improve the quality of discourse.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, it&#8217;s such convenient shorthand when someone <em>is <\/em>being a wingnut, idiot, cretin, etc. I mean, I could belabor why I feel the latest idiocy to fly out of someone&#8217;s mouth is, in fact, factually unsupportable, logically fallacious, and ethically dubious &#8230; but there&#8217;s far too much idiocy out there, and I do, in fact, have a full time job and family responsibilities to take care of.
