{"id":147853,"date":"2019-12-30T15:03:00","date_gmt":"2019-12-30T22:03:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/?p=147853"},"modified":"2019-12-31T09:44:50","modified_gmt":"2019-12-31T16:44:50","slug":"my-books-of-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2019\/12\/30\/my-books-of-2019.html","title":{"rendered":"My Books of 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I don&#8217;t know that I read more or less this year than last, but the overall tally looks pretty impressive.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/user\/year_in_books\/2019\/4631805\">my tally, courtesy of GoodReads<\/a> (and a lot of work of my own putting the information in).<\/p>\n<p>That shows up (currently) as 100 books read; that includes 50 graphic novels, along with 42 text novels (22 of them re-reads) and 8 audiobooks (non-fiction).\u00a0Notable series I dove into the first time this year: Novik&#8217;s <em>Temeraire<\/em> series (in progress) and a good chunk of Lee&#8217;s <em>Liaden<\/em> books. Also reread all of Peters&#8217; <em>Cadfael<\/em> mysteries and Zelazy&#8217;s <em>Amber<\/em> works.<\/p>\n<p>There were also 2-3 virtual longboxes worth of comic books.<\/p>\n<p>On to 2020!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/stacks-of-black-and-white-books1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-32017 size-full\" title=\"Books!
