We&#8217;d been planning on a Wasatch (Bigtooth, Rocky Mountain Sugar) Maple&nbsp;<em>(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.coopext.colostate.edu\/4dmg\/Trees\/wasatch.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Acer grandidentatum<\/a>),<\/em> but it&#8217;s propensity for bushiness and limited availability led me to change the order to an Autumn Blaze Maple, (<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hort.wisc.edu\/mastergardener\/features\/woodies\/abmaple\/abmaple.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Acer x freemanii<\/a>) <\/em>which is a red\/silver cross, fast-growing, and possessing vivid call colors. The final size is comparable between the two, and it should be pretty spiffy once it&#8217;s in.
