Or, as the article says, &#8220;Religion is not so much a set of beliefs as it is a response to revelation, and as we see in Christianity and Judaism and Islam and Buddhism and Hinduism, the response to revelation varies endlessly.&#8221;  Just as one cannot generalize, over the centuries and the world, whether Christianity is a religion of &#8220;love&#8221; or a religion of &#8220;war,&#8221; making the same assumptions (happy or hateful) about Islam is not a useful simplification.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/obsidianwings.blogs.com\/obsidian_wings\/2009\/06\/testing-my-patients.html\">Testing My PATIENTS<\/a> &#8211; Brilliant take-down.  The GOP&#8217;s goals on health care seem to be (a) make sure the insurance and pharma industries don&#8217;t get hurt, and (b) make sure the White House and Dems don&#8217;t get any political credit. There will always be voices saying &#8220;We cannot afford anything more&#8221; and &#8220;We can afford anything.&#8221;  We should decide what things we need to have, then see how to achieve them.
