Colors will indicate whether I <span style=\"color: #339966;\">won <\/span>or <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">lost<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Colorado-voting.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-151348\" title=\"Colorado voting\" src=\"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Colorado-voting-650x366.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"366\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Colorado-voting-650x366.jpg 650w, https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Colorado-voting-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Colorado-voting-150x84.jpg 150w, https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Colorado-voting.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 984px) 61vw, (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Amendment B: Doing away with the Gallagher Amendment on Property Taxes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #339966;\">I voted YES. <\/span><span style=\"color: #339966;\">Result was YES (57-43).\u00a0<\/span><em>Colorado&#8217;s tax laws remain a mess, but this has yanked a few wires out of the tangle.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Amendment C: Easier \/ more profitable to run bingo-raffle games.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #339966;\">I voted NO. Result was YES (52\/48), but fails by not reaching the required 55%.\u00a0<\/span><em>Changes in the ballot proposition system a few elections back means that some proposals require a 55% win. This one didn&#8217;t meet it, which I&#8217;m just as happy about, as the whole thing sounded like a scam.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Amendment 76: Edit a voting requirement to &#8220;must be a United States citizen&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">I voted NO. Result was YES (63-37).\u00a0<\/span><em>A solution searching\u00a0 for a problem, and a sop for nativists.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Amendment 77: Allow limited gaming towns to go hog-wild with games and stakes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">I voted NO. Result was YES (60-40).<\/span> <em>Some towns and community colleges will get a little richer. Some gambling companies will get a lot richer. A bunch of Coloradans will get a lot poorer.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proposition EE: Nicotine tax on vaping products and smoking tobacco products.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #339966;\">I voted YES. Result was YES (68-32).<\/span>\u00a0<em>Everyone loves a sin tax.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proposition 113: Join the National Popular Vote compact?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #339966;\">I voted YES. Result was YES (52-48).<\/span><em> The Electoral College sucks. Enough Coloradans feel that way, too.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proposition 114: Reintroduce gray wolves in Colorado?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #339966;\">I voted YES. Result was YES (50.3-49.7)<\/span>. <em>This one barely eked its way to victory. Oh, btw, the Trump Administration just announced gray wolves were off the Endangered Species List.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proposition 115: Ban abortion at 22 weeks?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #339966;\">I voted NO. Result was NO (41-59).<\/span> <em>I wish the margin had been higher. But, then, I wish folk would stop putting this on the ballot every election.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proposition 116: Cut state income tax from 4.63% to 4.55%<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">I voted NO. Result was YES (57-43).<\/span> <em>Most people won&#8217;t notice the difference, but state programs will.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proposition 117: Require voter approval of state enterprises that charge un-TABORed fees?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">I voted NO. Result was YES (52-48).<\/span> <em>This state remains compulsively anti-tax.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proposition 118: Create a paid family and medical leave program?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #339966;\">I voted YES. Result was YES (57-43).<\/span> <em>But we&#8217;re also kind of progressive on what we want government to do. Yes, that&#8217;s quite a contradiction. But I&#8217;ll take it on this one (though it will be up for referendum in two years based on the win of Prop 117).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Overall, I&#8217;m pretty pleased, going <span style=\"color: #339966;\">7<\/span>&#8211;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">4<\/span> on how I wanted the vote to go &#8212; and not losing on the ones I felt most strongly about.
