Our extended clan escaped from the &#8220;Governor&#8221; and made it back to their prison fortress. But the Governor isn&#8217;t so easily thwarted. Can good guys fight off the bad guys? Don&#8217;t lay money on it &#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>Really, this is a very good book, in terms of throwing its characters again and again into a crucible to see what can be melted off next. Tragedy and death seem to be the only constants. Kirkman does not disappoint in this series. Shock, dismay, or induce cringing, perhaps, but never disappoint. Though he didn&#8217;t maintain that level of quality beyond this first segment, it was still a good run.
