Who is more likely to have my best interests in mind?  A faceless, soulless Washington bureaucracy?  Or a profit-minded big-media monopoly?  Given the choice between the two, I vote for the bureaucracy, if only because I indirectly vote for their bosses through the political system.  Somehow, somewhere, the government is out to satisfy me to a sufficient extent that I vote for the status quo.  Comcast doesn&#8217;t give a bloody rip as to whether I&#8217;m satisfied, unless it means I figure out a way to get broadband and cable without them.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/dispatches\/2009\/09\/this_explains_sally_kern.php?utm_source=combinedfeed&amp;utm_medium=rss\">This Explains Sally Kern : Dispatches from the Culture Wars<\/a> &#8211; Ripping my (minimal) hair out now.
