The bottom line: the Right (and the Right Punditry, in particular), is so rabidly, blindly, insanely anti-Obama, that they are willing to cat-call and mock the third largest city in the United States, and root for some other country to get the Olympics. <\/p>\n
Not because the Olympics are a dubious economic proposition. <\/p>\n
Not because Chicago is or is not, on some objective sense, the best potential venue. <\/p>\n
But because they hate Obama <\/em>and would rather see the entire nation go down in flames than support anything that someone somewhere might consider a win for his Administration.<\/p>\nTheir opposition is built solely on hate and political game-playing. There is no concern over the public interest, our democracy, our national identity. It is all, and utterly, about politics and hatred.<\/p>\n
This is not principled concern. This is not the “loyal opposition.” These are fanatics who will stop at nothing <\/em>to gain their ends, no matter who is hurt, no matter what is lost.<\/p>\nFreaking disgusting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
