So &#8220;favoriting&#8221; something, instead of, well, &#8220;favoring&#8221; it.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/feedproxy.google.com\/~r\/SociologicalImagesSeeingIsBelieving\/~3\/fhQD2mVKtyg\/\">Child Labor in America 1908-1912<\/a> &#8211; But let&#8217;s remember, people, that the legal elimination of child labor is GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION IN THE FREE MARKET and SOCIALISTIC and HARMFUL TO SMALL BUSINESSES!  And there are, in fact, those on the Right who wish it could be rolled back.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/kottke.org\/09\/12\/national-borders-become-natural-borders\">National borders become natural borders<\/a> &#8211; Man does have an impact &#8212; sometimes inadvertently positive.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.pfaw.org\/content\/new-gao-report-exposes-more-about-politicization-department-justice-under-bush\">New GAO Report Exposes More About Politicization of Department of Justice  Under Bush<\/a> &#8211; I&#8217;m shocked, shocked, to discover the Bush Justice Department Civil Rights Division wasn&#8217;t interested in voting rights and race\/sex employment discrimination cases.  Jerks.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/consumerist.com\/2009\/12\/why-a-comcastnbc-merger-is-bad-news.html\">Why A Comcast\/NBC Merger Is Bad News<\/a> &#8211; None of these things <b>has<\/b> to happen &#8230; but, sure as shooting, they will.  Consolidation -&gt; monopoly -&gt; commercial and customer abuse.  As inevitable as the tides.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/feedproxy.google.com\/~r\/boingboing\/iBag\/~3\/aQtw9P_9M60\/boing-boing-charitab-1.html\">Boing Boing Charitable Giving Guide, the 2009 edition<\/a> &#8211; (1) It&#8217;s getting to that time of year when you should be thinking about how charitable giving can affect your tax bill next year. Also (2) when giving to worthy causes gets a bit more morally compelling.
