You&#8217;re just being PC&#8221; is as simplistic and destructive as saying, &#8220;Don&#8217;t like our being politically correct? You&#8217;re just being racist.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/feedproxy.google.com\/~r\/Three-starDavesSharedItemsInGoogleReader\/~3\/sBFBYSTEHCE\/what-good-were-they.html\">What Good Were They?<\/a> &#8211; That ACORN got thrown to the wolves by the Dems (including the former &#8220;community activist&#8221; in the White House) is not just shameful, but ultimately counterproductive to Democratic values.  It&#8217;s a moral victory (and perpetual bogie man) for the Right, and they&#8217;ll be going on to attack every other similar organization, plus any place the local ACORN groups or personnel move to, tarring the cause with the &#8220;guilt&#8221; of that faux scandal.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/feedproxy.google.com\/~r\/Three-starDavesSharedItemsInGoogleReader\/~3\/0xhqHtzpXgs\/12-vicious-values-contd.html\">12 vicious values (cont&#8217;d.)<\/a> &#8211; Why Glenn Beck&#8217;s 912 Project prefers &#8220;values&#8221; to &#8220;virtues,&#8221; a telling comparison to the Scout Law, and two particular &#8220;values&#8221; presented that are effectively no virtue at all.  Very nicely done.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/feedproxy.google.com\/~r\/Three-starDavesSharedItemsInGoogleReader\/~3\/NrbUOXACmLE\/\">Palin Tells Constitution-Loving Tea Partiers: We Don\u2019t Need A President Who  Is A \u2018Constitutional Law Professor\u2019<\/a> &#8211; There&#8217;s no conflict here at all.  They honor the Constitution <b>as they understand it<\/b>, and don&#8217;t want some &#8220;pointy-headed intellectual&#8221; telling them they understand it (and so much else) poorly.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/feedproxy.google.com\/~r\/Three-starDavesSharedItemsInGoogleReader\/~3\/QM235HHsRmU\/classic-tea-party-response.html\">Classic Tea Party Response<\/a> &#8211; It&#8217;s certainly worth noting that (a) the TPs are not some monolithic ideology, but (b) more of a generalized anti-government movement.  Recall that &#8220;TEA&#8221; meant &#8220;Taxed Enough Already,&#8221; which is a generalized but modestly coherent ideology, sort of a Libertarianism Lite.  But it&#8217;s developed over the months into a simplistic anti-government bitch-fest &#8230; not solely about the size of government (government = taxes = BAD) but also criticizing government policies (lack of government regulation of BAD things = BAD; government regulation of GOOD things = GOOD).  The movement is now ideologically incoherent, which let&#8217;s folks say apparently anti-libertarian things like this un-ironically.  What will be interesting (and scary) to see is where things go from here, and who will manage to co-opt the movement&#8217;s members.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/feedproxy.google.com\/~r\/Three-starDavesSharedItemsInGoogleReader\/~3\/Mrakg9LQWNo\/-Federal-Government-Takes-Over-Federal-Program\">Federal Government Takes Over Federal Program<\/a> &#8211; How dare the federal government take over the federal student loan program!<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/feedproxy.google.com\/~r\/Three-starDavesSharedItemsInGoogleReader\/~3\/ZvtEswvOQLo\/dumbass_quote_of_the_day_121.php\">Dumbass Quote of the Day [Dispatches from the Culture Wars]<\/a> &#8211; Wait &#8212; Newt, are you saying that LBJ shouldn&#8217;t have fought to enact civil rights legisation?  And isn&#8217;t that the legislation that the Republicans keep magically taking credit for?  Yeesh.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/feedproxy.google.com\/~r\/Three-starDavesSharedItemsInGoogleReader\/~3\/V7_PFW1vl2c\/\">American demographics<\/a> &#8211; Things never go back to the way they were.
