Um &#8230; no.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Know how longtime Denver residents pronounce these north Denver street names: Zuni, Pecos and Galapago?<\/strong> I know the first (Zoo-nigh).\u00a0 Not surprised to read BD&#8217;s answer of the rest (Pay-cus, Gala-paygo).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Know where \u201cPee-eblo\u201d is located? <\/strong>Not heard it pronounced that way.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Know people who pronounce \u201cBuena\u201d in Buena Vista as if it rhymed with either \u201cgrainy\u201d or \u201ctuna\u201d? <\/strong>No.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Still refer to Whole Foods as \u201cAlfalfa\u2019s\u201d?<\/strong> No. I tend to refer to it as &#8220;Whole Paycheck.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Have seen trick-or-treaters soldiering through a Halloween snowstorm?<\/strong> Been tehre, escorted that. While we have had occasional clement Halloweens, it&#8217;s generally best to go for a costume that you can wear a parka over (or under).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Never confuse Empire\u2019s Hard Rock Cafe with the famous chain? <\/strong>Um &#8230; no clue.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Have comfortably worn shorts outdoors in December or January?<\/strong> Since we can get into pleasant weather in those months, it&#8217;s happened.\u00a0 And sandals.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Know which Colorado town competes with International Falls, Minn., for the title of \u201cIcebox of the Nation\u201d?<\/strong> No.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Automatically bring a fleece pullover or jacket on a day hike in the mountains, even when the temperature in Denver and Grand Junction is solidly in the 90s? <\/strong>At least a sweatshirt.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Watched a flick at Buena Vista\u2019s Comanche Drive-in or Monte Vista\u2019s Movie Manor?<\/strong> Nope, but I used to drive by the lamented Cinderella Drive-in for many years, thrilling to each &#8220;See you next season&#8221; marquee.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Know where alligators thrive in the San Luis Valley? <\/strong>Nope.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Made it through a meal at Casa Bonita? <\/strong>More than I care to remember.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ran (or walked) the Bolder Boulder and have the T-shirt to prove it? <\/strong>Never did it myself, but familiar with the name.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Know what the Leadville Trail 100 is?<\/strong> Nope.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Extra credit if you know how many LT 100s must be completed to earn the belt buckle? <\/strong>Um, still nope.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Know the difference between the Front Range and the Western Slope?<\/strong> Um &#8230; yeah.\u00a0 I&#8217;d say that&#8217;s a &#8220;1 week&#8221; learning curve here.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Not surprisingly, the native-born (they do exist!)
