City officials in Sioux City, Iowa, are petitioning the FAA to change their airport code, which currently has the designation SUX<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What’s odd about this amusing story is “no one at the airport currently knows why the facility was designated SUX.”<\/i> Perhaps, oh, I don’t know, somebody chose the first and last two letters?<\/p>\n
