The State Department’s published counterterrorism reads, in part:<\/p>\n

First, make no concessions to terrorists and strike no deals.
\nSecond, bring terrorists to justice for their crimes.
\nThird, isolate and apply pressure on states that sponsor terrorism to force them to change their behavior.
\nFourth, bolster the counterterrorism capabilities of those countries that work with the U.S. and require assistance.<\/p>\n

That all seems pretty reasonable to me.<\/p>\n

Of course, the definition of what “terrorism” is can be a little bit sticky, especially in some of the grey areas. But, still …<\/p>\n
