  3. “You’re going to get tasered”<\/a> – Tasers were developed as an alternative to either beating a guy with a baton or shooting him. They have been mostly successful at that — but unfortunately too many cops seem to think of them as “phasers on stun” and treat them as either (a) a completely safe way to incapacitate someone (they are not), or (b) a way to inflict pain and compliance without leaving a mark. I think they remain a useful tool in the police arsenal, just like firearms — but only if we have police that can be held accountable for their actions.<\/li>\n
