This is not the post I wanted to write<\/a> – “If you look around the world, abortion rates are lowest not where abortion is illegal, but where contraception is widely available and there is social pressure to use it.” Abortion is so contentious because it is a combination of arguments over life vs death, and over freedom vs tyranny … but also over man vs woman, and sexuality vs chastity. But speaking purely pragmatically, if “pro-life” forces were willing to do whatever it took to remove the demand side of abortion (rather than fighting against the supply side), I think they’d draw less fire and likely be more effective.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
