Yes, it can be made into empty gestures and meaninglessly repetitive words — but it can also be a steppingstone to something more meaningful. (But, then, as a Catholic-turned-Episcopalian, you’d expect me to think that.)<\/li>\n

Army begins training chaplains on new ‘don’t ask’ policy \u2013 CNN Belief Blog – CNN.com Blogs<\/a> – Military chaplains have had to deal with ministering to troops not of their denomination, or even of their faith. It is that ministry, not some doctrinal orthodoxy, that is what brings chaplains into the service, and adding the policy change on gay in the military is just one more aspect to that which I expect most chaplains will adapt to.<\/li>\n
