Loud Noise and Traffic Disruptions<\/span><\/p>\nOn 20 April<\/span><\/strong>, there will be an emergency services drill at Centennial Airport that will test the ability of the airport to handle a huge incident in another city that will send many patients to hospitals in the Denver metro area.<\/p>\nThe exercise will be a full equipment set-up at Signature Flight Support and will include the reception, treatment and transportation of simulated patients.\u00a0\u00a0The patients will physically be transported via air and ground to fifteen NDMS supporting hospitals in the North Central Region from Denver to Loveland CO.
\nThere will be numerous large helicopters, ambulances and other transportation modes in use, all creating a huge amount of noise and possible traffic disruptions around the airport and highways.<\/p>\n
“Patients” (volunteers) will be transported to the following NDMS Hospitals for this exercise.<\/strong><\/p>\nSky Ridge Medical Center<\/p>\n

Platte Valley Medical Center<\/p>\n

\nThe exercise will start at 5 am on 20 April. We’re talking rush hour disruptions.
\nThe scenario is:<\/strong><\/p>\nAn Earthquake has occurred at Blytheville, Arkansas along the New Madrid fault.\u00a0\u00a0Disaster declared and FCC Denver is alerted to receive NDMS patients from Blytheville, Arkansas. People are being evacuated for medical care.
\nDo not be alarmed, but be ready for the disruption.<\/span><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\nI think it’s great that they’re drilling in such a realistic fashion.
