He commanded a tiny force that committed some awful crimes. But we let that (or were manipulated into letting that) spiral into some giant existential battle of Good vs Evil and West vs East and Christian vs Muslim and US vs Iraqistan &#8230; and so made him, and his movement, into much bigger boogymen than they were.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/feedproxy.google.com\/~r\/Three-starDavesSharedItemsInGoogleReader\/~3\/bn4XDhZjW-4\/republicans-rush-rewrite-history-bush-and-bin-laden\">Republicans Rush to Rewrite History of Bush and Bin Laden<\/a> &#8211; Y&#8217;know, there&#8217;s politics, and I understand that.  But the GOP seem to be going out of their way to avoid any hint that Obama might have done something right here, either by solely crediting Bush or crediting Obama only to the extent that he (they say) followed Bush policy.
