Nice. New. Clean. Free cookies in the lobby. No On-Demand TV, but a very lengthy list of cable channels. The broadband got ripped out a year or so ago, but there’s a nice phone jack to let you dial out at 29K (assuming you have a working PC).

And, let us not forget, the worst little self-service “breakfast bar” in the world. Not that the foodstuffs were bad, it’s just that it was laid out poor, there wasn’t much room (or enough chairs), the selection was quite limited, and the little self-serve waffle maker insisted on taking half your waffle, off the top, as sacrifice to the waffle gods.

Fortunately, someone at the office waxed eloquent about Panera Bread. Think of Starbucks (in decor), but with a bakery that does everything from yummy asiago bagettes to german chocolate danishes. And a sandwich/soup/salad counter that makes fabulous sandwiches and paninis and (by the looks of others) ditto soup and salads.

And cappucino. Great cappucino. And latte.

Yum.

Not cheap — but good value for the dollar in terms of quantity and quality.

We did an “offsite meeting” there for about five hours on Wednesday. And we went there for lunch and (hence the whole intro to this) breakfast, too.

And they have them here in Colorado.

Mmmmmmm.

(Fortunately there’s not one within walking distance of my office, otherwise I would eat there, excessively.)

So one of the interesting parts of business travel is eating.
