Unfortunately, not much of what I watched was all that &#8230; um &#8230; likely to be watched (by me) again:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tnt.tv\/series\/fallingskies\/\">Falling Skies<\/a>: It&#8217;s like <em>War of the Worlds<\/em>! \u00a0No, it&#8217;s like the Tripods! \u00a0No, it&#8217;s like <em>Red Dawn,<\/em> but with aliens instead of commies! No, it&#8217;s like those BSG episodes that were set on Caprica after the invasion! Only with angsty teens! \u00a0No, it&#8217;s &#8230; well, it&#8217;s &#8230; just not that interesting. I mean, maybe it was an off episode (which can be said about any of these), but &#8230; well, I wouldn&#8217;t <em>not <\/em>watch an episode I happened to stumble across &#8230; but I wouldn&#8217;t go out of my way (or DVD it). (TNT) <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-21567\" title=\"2.5 of 5 stars - &quot;It was OK&quot; (+)\" src=\"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/stars25-5.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"83\" height=\"15\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tnt.tv\/series\/rizzoliandisles\/\">Rizzoli &amp; Isles<\/a>: She&#8217;s a tough-as-nails female cop! She&#8217;s a quirky-but-sassy medical examiner with poor social skills! Together, THEY FIGHT CRIME! Oh, and bicker. But they&#8217;re good friends. Except when they&#8217;re not. \u00a0I guess. \u00a0It&#8217;s like Cagney &amp; Lacey, except with fashion models! \u00a0Now, I have nothing against police procedurals, but I found the characters (and supporting cast) annoying, and the story uninspired. I&#8217;ll probably passively avoid it in the future. \u00a0(TNT) <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-21568\" title=\"1.5 of 5 stars - &quot;I didn't like it (though it wasn't awful)&quot;\" src=\"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/stars15-5.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"83\" height=\"15\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.usanetwork.com\/series\/whitecollar\/\">White Collar<\/a>: He&#8217;s a clever and arrogant ex-con-man! \u00a0He&#8217;s the FBI agent who caught him! \u00a0Together, THEY FIGHT CRIME! \u00a0Yeah, it&#8217;s the offbeat genius helping the police trope (see <em>The Mentalist<\/em> and <em>Castle<\/em>), but nowhere near as interesting, well acted, or well written. A few amusing moments. (USA) <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-21565\" title=\"2.0 of 5 - &quot;It was OK&quot;\" src=\"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/stars20-5.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"83\" height=\"15\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbc.com\/law-and-order-special-victims-unit\/\">Law &amp; Order: SVU<\/a>: Always a dependable stand-by (like the whole L&amp;O franchise, though I like the original best). \u00a0I don&#8217;t watch it regularly, but it&#8217;s always entertainingly worthwhile stopping at when I run across it. (NBC, but actually USA-based reruns, I think) <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-21564\" title=\"3.0 of 5 stars - &quot;I liked it&quot;\" src=\"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/stars30-5.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"83\" height=\"15\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Though it wasn&#8217;t a TV series, I did get to see a 10 minute preview of <em>Rango<\/em>, and it looked (and was) pretty fun.
