{"id":21948,"date":"2011-08-03T22:27:06","date_gmt":"2011-08-04T04:27:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/?p=21948"},"modified":"2011-08-03T22:27:06","modified_gmt":"2011-08-04T04:27:06","slug":"cache-as-cache-can","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2011\/08\/03\/cache-as-cache-can.html","title":{"rendered":"Cache as cache can"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/mad-scientist.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-21949\" title=\"Mad Scientist\" src=\"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/mad-scientist-300x274.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"274\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/mad-scientist-300x274.jpg 300w, https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/mad-scientist.jpg 414w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 85vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>So one of my frustrations with Google Plus has been an inability to link to items on my blog from it. \u00a0When you do a link, G+ tries to actually load the file (to read the text, grab the images, etc.), unlike putting a link into Twitter or Facebook where it&#8217;s &#8230; well, just a link. \u00a0Which makes G+ more reliable in some ways, but more complicated. \u00a0And complications mean more places to break.<\/p>\n<p>Including, for me, the inability to link to posts on my blog from Google Plus.<\/p>\n<p>That led me to think that maybe my blog had some performance\/latency problems. So I ran through some performance tools, including Google&#8217;s Page Speed \u00a0tool.
