Ever notice something about those “As Seen on TV” blurbs and graphics?<\/p>\n

See the curved edges? \u00a0The slightly bulbous shape?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>
Here's another one!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

What does that mean? \u00a0Why?<\/p>\n

As Seen on TV!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

And that’s because …<\/p>\n

Once upon a time in America ... this was a TV<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I’m sure there was a good reason for the curved edges. \u00a0But that’s what we had. \u00a0Until about, oh, a few years ago, that’s what all TVs looked like. \u00a0Now …<\/p>\n

This is what TV looks like now<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

In 2010, 2\/3 of American households had an HDTV. \u00a0That proportion continues to climb more each year.<\/p>\n

So when will those little “As Seen on TV” logos turn into a 16:9 box?<\/p>\n

Maybe once phone icons stop looking like this ...<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
... or this ...<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
... or even this.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
