Neither Fair Nor Accurate<\/a> – I understand the desire to objectively evaluate teachers, but using standardized tests to grade teacher performance (and, thus, pay) ignores the known<\/b> facts that the tests are only roughly accurate, that scoring on them varies widely by day or year, and that performance is impacted much more by factors not under teacher control. All it does is incent teachers to avoid classes with problem kids, or to find way to fob those kids off onto other teachers, programs, or schools.<\/li>\n
