Demands Donations To Fight Imaginary Sharia Invasion<\/a> &#8211; Because Jesus was all about giving money to the &#8230; folks worried about Samaritan law invading the Holy City of Jerusalem, or something.  Right?  I mean, there&#8217;s something about Samaritans there in the Bible, from what I recall, that must be it.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/feedproxy.google.com\/~r\/Three-starDavesSharedItemsInGoogleReader\/~3\/_rh-nofZnPA\/would-you-use-dollar-coins-if-it-saved-the-government-56-billion\">Would You Use Dollar Coins if It Saved the Government $5.6 Billion? [Government]<\/a> &#8211; &#8220;why do Americans dislike the dollar coin?&#8221; Because it&#8217;s different. Because they use bills and there&#8217;s no immediate benefit to using them. Indeed, there might even be a small inconvenience. Plus, given the spin given to the half-hearted efforts in the US to date, it smacks vaguely of THE GUBBIMENT IS TAKING AWAY MY RIGHT TO DOLLAR BILLS or something.  So the answer is to simply stop making dollar bills. Period. Then the coins will, over time, perforce be used.  Problem solved.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/feedproxy.google.com\/~r\/Three-starDavesSharedItemsInGoogleReader\/~3\/lFkwUOy1j0I\/\">Those poor persecuted Christians<\/a> &#8211; Again and again, we see the issue of folks who consider their practices and opinions to be the &#8220;norm,&#8221; and so don&#8217;t see why anyone else of a different opinion or belief should be offended &#8212; indeed, who see maintenance of their particular norm as being a matter of &#8220;freedom&#8221;.  It&#8217;s not so much malice (in most cases) as unaware ignorance and confusion.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/feedproxy.google.com\/~r\/Three-starDavesSharedItemsInGoogleReader\/~3\/Ok5EtA4Xx3E\/\">We Are All Strapping Young Bucks Buying T-Bones Now<\/a> &#8211; Ryan is worried about our social safety net becoming &#8220;a hammock that ends up lulling people into lives of dependency and complacency which drains them of their incentive and the will to make the most of their lives&#8221;? Obviously he hasn&#8217;t tried to make a budget while living on existing levels of social security, or food stamps, or other such stopgaps.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/feedproxy.google.com\/~r\/Three-starDavesSharedItemsInGoogleReader\/~3\/y6BR6Pcsh0I\/fox-news-grasps-its-next-straw-attack-ows\">Fox News Grasps at Next Straw to Attack #OWS&#8230; ACORN!<\/a> &#8211; &#8220;Grasping at Acorns&#8221; &#8230; I love it.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/feedproxy.google.com\/~r\/Three-starDavesSharedItemsInGoogleReader\/~3\/Ibm08smHAS4\/sopa-us-house-of-reps-copyright-bill-proposes-national-censorship-attacks-on-hosting-services-twitter-youtube.html\">SOPA: US House of Reps copyright bill proposes national censorship, attacks on hosting services, Twitter, YouTube<\/a> &#8211; Leaving aside the whole &#8220;Twitter is threatened&#8221; stuff, this is just stupid-bad policy. Even if the IP issues are as dire as described, it&#8217;s really a case of the (very well-monied) tail wagging the dog to impose this sort of process.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/feedproxy.google.com\/~r\/Three-starDavesSharedItemsInGoogleReader\/~3\/xsQLqey1ljw\/\">Mississippi\u2019s shame<\/a> &#8211; In the words of LBJ (a man who knew a lot about lawmaking, good and bad): &#8220;You do not examine legislation in the light of the benefits it will convey if properly administered, but in the light of the wrongs it would do and the harms it would cause if improperly administered.&#8221; Anyone who thinks this bill will not be used by someone, somewhere in Mississippi to do all the things that the official supporters say it would never, ever be used for &#8230; well, I have a nice bridge in a swamp to sell you.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/feedproxy.google.com\/~r\/Three-starDavesSharedItemsInGoogleReader\/~3\/OOsCRiPn8b4\/\">Now, the American Cancer Society is Just Lying\u2026<\/a> &#8211; ACS is seriously shooting themselves in the foot here.
