Android Orphans: Visualizing a Sad History of Support<\/a> – The main issue here seems to be that Android phone makers try to distinguish themselves by adding on an additional layer of user interface cruft (e.g., HTC’s “Sense”) that makes it more difficult (even were they willing) to upgrade to newer OS versions. I’ve never felt particularly constrained to date on my phone — but the HTC Incredible is doing pretty well on this table here. Something to consider next time around, though.<\/li>\n
