When I die, I don’t have any particular desire to have my corpse cryogenically preserved. My DNA isn’t that valuable, and while I believe in the transmigration of souls, I don’t think that anyone who might be hypothetically cloned from those cells (assuming any of them are cloneworthy after freezing) would be me.

Actually, I don’t have any significant interest in what’s done with my carcass after it stops moving. I expect to be otherwise distracted. Burn it, bury it, feed it to the servals, I really don’t care.

On the other hand, I expect a kick-ass tombstone. Name. Dates. Pithy quote (I’ll have to work on that). Big, weeping angels and stuff like that. Real “haunted graveyard on the hill” stuff. Get the designer from LotR to do it. That would be keen, and a far better use for the money than the cryogenics company would put it to.

The historian (and genealogist) in me demands that my descendents be able to find the spot and go oooh and aaah.

(I’d also like a party. Er, wake. Something fun. Go through my RPG campaign notes. Tell funny stories about me. Drink to my memory. Have a good time. That would be something worthwhile.)
