It seems to me that Lying for Christ is the moral equivalent to taking the Lord's name in vain<\/p>\n

It also occurs to me that people spend way too little time actually researching remarkable claims. Perhaps it's laziness. Perhaps it's confirmation bias. Perhaps it's an intentional disingenuity for a "good cause."<\/p>\n

And with the "news" media is particularly awful.<\/p>\n

"This goes beyond 'he said, she said' reporting to credulous 'fruit bat said' reporting."<\/i><\/p>\n

When I read a highly editorialized excerpt of a news article, I usually click through to the news article and blog that. And sometimes I drill down several layers. And sometimes I find that the source material doesn't really support the "operator" game layers of editorializing.<\/p>\n

The truth is out there. But if you're just forwarding along what you hear, you're not pursuing the truth, you're just looking for comforting lies. And, for Christians, I'm pretty damned sure that's not what Jesus was all about. #ddtb<\/p>\n
