But, there are if you move to where the jobs are. In the 1930&#39;s and 1940&#39;s, there were several great migrations in the United States. The migration from the Great Plains to California was captured in the John Steinbeck novel about the Joad family. Many families moved from the rural south to the industrialized north for work. Just because you have lived your whole life in one area of the country doesn\u2019t mean you are stuck there.&quot;<\/i> (<a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/rY7ZVK\" >http:\/\/bit.ly\/rY7ZVK<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>Yes, there are a lot of things that someone who is unemployed (unskilled or not) can and should be doing to find a job. Because it&#39;s hard to live decently on unemployment and welfare, and working makes a lot more sense. And, yes, relocation might be one of the options (assuming you can afford to move, aren&#39;t underwater with your mortgage, and all those other fine details).  <\/p>\n<p>But, really &#8230; the <i>Joad<\/i> family &#8212; and the reasons for their tragic trek, and what happened to them along the way, let alone where they ended up &#8212; is the <i>best<\/i> example you can come up with, Jeff?
