I would hope that, prior to 17, if my daughter had a concern that required emergency contraception that she would come to my wife and\/or me for assistance. If she didn't feel comfortable doing that (not beyond the realm of reason), I would hope she would do what she felt had to be done, and that she would be able to do so.<\/p>\n

Apparently Pres. Obama's fatherhood trumps my fatherhood (perhaps he's a father of two<\/i> daughters), and he<\/i> gets to decide what restrictions my daughter has on her options. He's decided to support (if not order) his HHS Secretary to override the FDA scientific and policy analysis that it was safe and helpful for "Plan B" emergency contraceptives to be available over the counter. Instead, Plan B will only be available to her, until she's 17, with a prescription. Which means she has<\/i> to come to us, and has<\/i> to get an appointment with a doctor first; or, alternately, go without and deal with a pregnancy.<\/p>\n

Barack — will you be available for other fatherly decisions and caretaking of my daughter? I mean, if that's the job you're angling for, maybe you can help her get ready for school in the morning, too, or harangue her to keep her room clean. Otherwise, thanks for nothing. #ddtb<\/p>\n
