\nThe makers of M&Ms have announced that the color purple<\/a> has been selected as the new M&M color, beating out pink and teal, er, cyan, er, aqua.<\/p>\n

Some 10 million people in 200 countries voted. The final tally:<\/p>\n

      Purple : 41%
\n      Aqua : 37%
\n      Pink : 19%<\/p>\n

I’m not sure what color got the remaining 3% …<\/p>\n

The official kick-off is in August, when purple will join with red, blue, brown, green, orange, and yellow. <\/p>\n

For those of you who voted for some other color, despair not: my guess is that we’ll see another “election” within two years. And, in the meantime, you can order whatever color combos you want<\/a> from a selection of 21 that includes cream, teal, silver, black, and gold.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
