I'm trying to figure out why Amazon would be at all interested in a failing corporate smartphone vendor that's hemorrhaging money because of a failed tablet … and why RIM would turn them down. Bizarre. #ddtb<\/p>\n

Tue Dec 20, 5:22 p.m.:<\/b> +<\/span>Reuters<\/a><\/span> reports that Research In Motion has turned down takeover overtures from +<\/span>Amazon.com<\/a><\/span> and other potential buyers because the +<\/span>BlackBerry<\/a><\/span> maker prefers to fix its problems on its own.<\/p>\n

Amazon reportedly hired an investment bank this summer to review a potential merger with RIM, but it did not make a formal offer.<\/p>\n
