{"id":25,"date":"2003-07-10T21:32:10","date_gmt":"2003-07-11T02:32:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/?p=25"},"modified":"2003-07-10T21:32:10","modified_gmt":"2003-07-11T02:32:10","slug":"signs_of_the_ti","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2003\/07\/10\/signs_of_the_ti.html","title":{"rendered":"Signs of the times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As someone was once told, &#8220;You have the most pompous signature I&#8217;ve ever seen,&#8221; and who struggles to fit it inside of those microscopic signature strips on the back of credit cards, I thought <a title=\"The Credit Card Prank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.zug.com\/pranks\/credit\/index.html\">this prank<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"block\">In my lifetime, I have made nearly 15,000 credit card transactions. I purchase almost everything on plastic. What bugs me about credit card transactions is the <i>signing<\/i>. Who checks the signature? Nobody checks the signature. <br \/>\nCredit card signatures are a useless mechanism designed to make you feel safe, like airport security checks. So my question was, <i>how crazy would I have to make my signature before someone would actually notice?<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Very, very amusing.
