Honduran Cardinal Oscar Rodriguez Maradiaga is considered a likely prospect for the next pope.<\/p>\n

To sum up:<\/p>\n

  • It’s all part of the anti-Catholic prosecution of the Church by media moguls. <\/p>\n

    “The U.S. media appears … to act with a fury that reminds me at times of Diocletian and Nero and more recently of Stalin and Hitler. The church should be free of this kind of treatment.”<\/p>\n

  • Poor Cardinal Law of Boston has been questioned in “a way that recalls the darkest days of the famous Stalinist trials of church leaders in Eastern Europe … it (is) a scandal.”\n
  • The media moguls are motivated by hatred of the Church for its stands against abortion, capital punishment, and euthanasia, and for its support of a Palestinian state.<\/p>\n

    Never mind, of course, that the US political spectrum puts those issues in very different spots. It’s easier to just dismiss the whole thing as anti-Catholicism.<\/p>\n

    Again, this guy is identified as one of the Top Ten to succeed John Paul II. Is anyone else worried?<\/p>\n
