A big one of which is that the liberal \/ Democrat mindset is expressed in a more policy wonkish fashion, and the  conservative \/ Republican mindset is more moralistic &#8212; and that the latter tends to resonate more deeply.  The solution, too, seems to make sense: liberal\/progressives need to make clear the moral values that underlie their policies, and repeat them over and over, if they want to have the same gut impact as conservatives.  <\/p>\n<p>It&#39;s okay to have rational policy, and an intellectual discourse about it &#8212; but in many ways that has to build from an emotional predisposition to believe.
