This strikes me as very shortsighted, given that, even with a much larger distribution of parking lots on the existing LTR lines in Denver that there are consistent complaints about insufficient parking. Not only will a lack of adequate parking cause neighborhood problems, but it will, I assure you, reduce use of the system.<\/p>\n

(One of the silver linings about going into work as early as I do is that this is not a problem for me. On those days when I've ended up going in at a "normal" hour, though, parking is a huge problem, even at sites with huge lots.)<\/p>\n

The bottom line, I suspect, had little to do with "neighborhood integrity" and much more to do with costs. Buying land for Park-and-Rides in developed areas is expensive, as is building parking structures where needed, and the LTR program has been hit by serious budget problems (some their fault, some not). <\/p>\n

Regardless, I suspect folks on the west side will be complaining about this as a problem for a looooong time. #ddtb<\/p>\n
