So in our "Doctor Who" rewatch with Katherine, we're up to the second ep of Series 2 of the "modern" Doctor, "Tooth and Claw". Werewolf and Queen Victoria and Torchwood. That's all I have to say.<\/p>\n

Now, funny story. Three, four years ago, for some reason, I watched this episode with Katherine. I don't recall the circumstances or why, but we watched it. And she enjoyed it a lot. She would have been seven or eight, and I should have been a bit worried (it is<\/i> a lot more horror-oriented that most DW eps), but she loved it.<\/p>\n

So, at that time, I thought, "Hey, maybe we can watch the whole series together." (There are no new ideas under the sun.) So, being the anal kind of guy I am, I popped in S01E01, the first Ninth Doctor episode, "Rose." Start at the very beginning, thought I (a very good place to start).<\/p>\n

She seemed to enjoy it, but resisted thereafter watching any more. Until, oh, a month or so ao.<\/p>\n

Asking her about it this evening, she says, "Yeah, and then you made me watch the first episode, and it was scary!"<\/i><\/p>\n

"But … [thinking of the rather tame action and goofiness and the Nestine Consciousness in a Vat] … scarier than werewolves?"<\/i><\/p>\n

"Daddy, you know I love<\/i> werewolves."<\/p>\n

Go figure.<\/p>\n
