{"id":28042,"date":"2012-05-30T17:30:50","date_gmt":"2012-05-30T23:30:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2012\/05\/30\/crime-and-perpetual-punishment.html"},"modified":"2012-05-30T17:30:50","modified_gmt":"2012-05-30T23:30:50","slug":"crime-and-perpetual-punishment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2012\/05\/30\/crime-and-perpetual-punishment.html","title":{"rendered":"Crime and Perpetual Punishment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What a mess.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; A category, &quot;sexual offenders,&quot; that can include anything from hardcore child molesters, to a flasher, to an someone who, a few decades ago, was 18 and was caught sleeping with what turned out to be a 17-year-old.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; They&#39;ve all done their time.  They&#39;ve all been released. They&#39;ve paid their debt to society.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; And now there&#39;s an increasing number of laws restricting where they can be, including any number of public places &#8212; parks, beaches, piers, fair grounds, schools.  Doesn&#39;t make any difference what the crime was &#8212; in many cases, even whether the original crime was against children. <\/p>\n<p>&#8211; The laws aren&#39;t really enforced, so they aren&#39;t <i>really<\/i> keeping people safe &#8230; except from former offenders who are actually law-abiding.
