These guys make Disney look like a set of warm, fuzzy pushovers. \u00a0Not only are the obsessive about anything that even sounds<\/i> like "OLYMPICS" (next up: insisting the town fathers of Olympia, Washington, change their town name), but then you get something like this:<\/p>\n

The USOC is responsible for preserving the Olympic Movement and its ideals within the United States. \u00a0Part of that responsibility is to ensure that Olympic trademarks, imagery and terminology are protected and given the appropriate respect. \u00a0We believe using the name \u201cRavelympics\u201d for a competition that involves an afghan marathon, scarf hockey and sweater triathlon, among others, tends to denigrate the true nature of the Olympic Games. \u00a0In a sense, it is disrespectful to our country\u2019s finest athletes and fails to recognize or appreciate their hard work."<\/i><\/p>\n

Yeah, go ahead, laugh at the skill, dedication, and physical finesse it takes to knit. \u00a0"Disrespectful"? "Denigrating"? "Unappreciative"? \u00a0Get lost, idjits.<\/p>\n
