{"id":286,"date":"2003-05-09T08:05:53","date_gmt":"2003-05-09T13:05:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/?p=286"},"modified":"2003-05-09T08:05:53","modified_gmt":"2003-05-09T13:05:53","slug":"checklist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2003\/05\/09\/checklist.html","title":{"rendered":"Checklist"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Margie&#8217;s been working all week, and I&#8217;ve needed to work from the office all week, so we&#8217;ve been doing a lot of Kitten juggling and shuttling of her to\/from Margie&#8217;s office day care.<\/p>\n<p>Today, I got to drop her off, and did so early in the morning so I could then complete the great cross-town triangle and go to the office.  And I&#8217;m picking her up, too, so that we can go to the Denver Botanic Garden plant sale this afternoon, etc. (unless the heavens open up with rain and snow, which is actually predicted, believe it or not).<\/p>\n<p>So &#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Got car seat transferred from the Saturn where it was yesterday afternoon when I picked her up?  <i>Check<\/i>.\n<li>Got Katherine&#8217;s backpack, packed with clothes for her to wear and spare diapers and the like?  <i>Check<\/i>.<\/p>\n<li>Got Katherine&#8217;s lunch bag, so that she can nibble on stuff during the morning?  <i>Check<\/i>.<\/p>\n<li>Got a hat for Katherine and a hat for me so that the hot sun at the DBG won&#8217;t fry our little noggins?  <i>Check<\/i>.<\/p>\n<li>Got slippers for Katherine to wear in the car, since I&#8217;ll be picking her up bodily from bed, unwakened, and carrying her down to the car in her jammies?  <i>Check<\/i>.<\/p>\n<li>Got my keys, wallet, Palm, and other personal accoutrements?  <i>Check<\/i>.<\/p>\n<li>Got a list of stuff needed at Home Depot, etc., for errands on the way home?  <i>Check<\/i>.<\/p>\n<li>Got Margie&#8217;s card-key so that I can get into the building early to drop Katherine off?  <i>Check<\/i>.<\/p>\n<li>Got Kitten down to the van in a relatively snoozy fashion?  <i>Check<\/i>.<\/p>\n<li>Got your briefcase and laptop computer out of the trunk of the car where they were when you left work yesterday and where they stayed because you went off and saw <i>X2 <\/i>and then got home and crashed?  <i>Ch&#8211; aw, frell<\/i>.<\/ul>\n<p>Which, of course, I didn&#8217;t realize until I got to the office.<\/p>\n<p>The danger of being a creature of habit is screwing up when circumstances change abruptly.
