{"id":28613,"date":"2012-07-15T22:33:05","date_gmt":"2012-07-16T04:33:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2012\/07\/15\/san-diego-and-hollywood.html"},"modified":"2014-06-17T07:41:31","modified_gmt":"2014-06-17T13:41:31","slug":"san-diego-and-hollywood","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2012\/07\/15\/san-diego-and-hollywood.html","title":{"rendered":"San Diego and Hollywood"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was there as the San Diego Comic-Con \u00a0began its love affair with Hollywood. \u00a0I sat in the panel for Tim Burton&#39;s upcoming &quot;Batman&quot; movie, as well as another one for TV&#39;s &quot;Flash&quot;. \u00a0Back in the golden days before the Convention Center &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Since then, SDCC became Hollywood south, with all the studios clamoring to show off their blockbuster geektastic films, in order to build geek stree cred before movie releases.<\/p>\n<p>But something odd has become to happen. Not only has Hollywood noticed that big acclaim at SDCC doesn&#39;t guarantee box office success, but that the reverse is true: bad press from SDCC can cast a pall on upcoming films.
