{"id":2953,"date":"2002-08-29T14:03:16","date_gmt":"2002-08-29T19:03:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/?p=2953"},"modified":"2002-08-29T14:03:16","modified_gmt":"2002-08-29T19:03:16","slug":"big_surprise_he","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2002\/08\/29\/big_surprise_he.html","title":{"rendered":"Big surprise here"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As anyone knows who has actually tried to use e-mail for customer service, <a href=\"http:\/\/msnbc-cnet.com.com\/2100-1017-955947.html?type=pt&#038;part=msnbc&#038;tag=alert&#038;form=feed&#038;subj=cnetnews\">it&#8217;s rarely a quick way to get satisfaction<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"block\">Only a third of the companies surveyed by Jupiter Research bothered to immediately acknowledge they had gotten customers&#8217; e-mail in the first place, sending an automatic response.<br \/>\nMost of the companies did eventually respond to consumers, but don&#8217;t hold your breath; only 52 percent got back within 24 hours, while 32 percent took three days or longer.<\/p>\n<p>These lackadaisical responses may come back to haunt these companies, though, since the survey showed that most &#8220;high-spending consumers&#8221; (who spend over $1000 online per year) expect a resolution to e-mail complaints within 24 hours.
