{"id":30570,"date":"2012-10-13T11:01:26","date_gmt":"2012-10-13T17:01:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2012\/10\/13\/herculoids.html"},"modified":"2012-10-16T07:48:09","modified_gmt":"2012-10-16T13:48:09","slug":"herculoids","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2012\/10\/13\/herculoids.html","title":{"rendered":"Herculoids"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Man, I just ate up the early Hanna-Barbera heroic stuff back in the day &#8212; Jonny Quest, Space Ghost, and the Herculoids &#8230; gorgeous Alex Toth designs and it was like <i>comic books on my TV<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>It was still crappy HB limited animation, lots of repeated shots, and the plotlines were nothing to write home about, but I still loved &#39;em all. \u00a0I wanted to be Johnny. \u00a0I pretended to be (and drew stick figure comics about) Space Ghost. But the Herculoids were the most exciting, because they were a <i>team<\/i> &#8230; and any team that has a lightning-eyed\/tailed dragon, a stony giant ape, and a molten-rock slinging triceratops-ish thing, was a team I wanted to watch.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reshared post from +<a href='https:\/\/plus.google.com\/117242040716806453518'>Mark Means<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><b>Saturday Morning Fever<\/b><\/p>\n<p><i>Action\/Adventure edition<\/i><\/p>\n<p>One of my favorites&#8230;..sort of campy&#8230;, but always a fun cartoon to watch.<\/p>\n<p>Zandor, along with his wife Tara and son Dorno found adventure every week on the planet Quasar.
