Some are arguable misuse of words (though word use is always changing). \u00a0Some are personal preferences and affections.<\/p>\n<p>So here are three meta-rules about grammar and grammar mistakes:<\/p>\n<p>1. The purpose of grammar (and spelling, etc.) is to <i>communicate clearly.<\/i> If the communication is clear, it&#39;s okay if a rule has been broken.<br \/>2. Regardless of #1, some people will judge you and your writing based on your adherence to the rules. In a sense, your use of\u00a0the rules is communicating about <i>you,<\/i> not just about your topic. \u00a0It&#39;s like you&#39;ll be judged on what you wear, fairly or not.<br \/>3.
